Heading west along the Cunningham Highway, you'll find the little town of Inglewood, established in 1862. Inglewood is 91 kilometres east of Goondiwindi and 109 kilometres west of Warwick. Lake Coolmunda, 12 kilometres east of town, boasts some very pretty picnic spots along its shores. Excellent fishing can be enjoyed from either a boat or the shore. Lake Coolmunda Fishing Classic happens each October. Fresh water fishing sports are also abundant along the McIntyre Brook. Inglewood is emerging as a hub of the olive industry in Southern Queensland Country, with more than 340000 olive trees planted to date. Harvest time is between March and May. Drop into Coolumda Olives (opposite the Lake) to buy and sample local olives and olive oil. Inglewood is also home to the award-winning Leven K Lavender Farm - their lavender shed shop sells a range of lavender products such as lavender oil, lip balm, hand and body lotion and furniture rub. The best time to visit is when the crop is flower at its peak between November and February - but phone ahead as it's open by appointment only. The town services a diverse rural economy which produces sheep, cattle, timber as well as lucerne, grapes and a diversity of horticultural crops. While you're in the area explore the Inglewood Museum, enjoy the spring wildflowers and some excellent bird watching. Just 13 kilometres east of Inglewood, off the Cunningham Highway you'll find Coolmunda Dam - a great spot for birdwatching and water sports such as skiing, sailing, canoeing and fishing. It's rated as one of the area's best 'sweet water' fishing spots, with Golden Perch, Murray Cod, Silver Perch and Spangled Perch stocked regularly. Fishing permits are available from nearby service stations. Relax under the beautiful shady trees in the picnic area with views out over the water. Pelicans are sometimes seen gliding across the surface of the dam. Other facilities include a boat ramp and wood barbecues (wood is provided). Lake Coolmunda Caravan Park overlooks Coolmunda Dam and offers cabins and camping sites , including some sites along the waterfront. ...

Located on the Cunningham Highway on the eastern end of the township of Inglewood, and adjacent to the Macintyre Brook, the Inglewood Apex-Lions Park is a lovely place to break your journey and relax. You can enjoy a barbecue using the free gas barbecues provided in a lovely atmosphere with shady trees, picnic tables and shelter sheds. Exercise stations, a skate park and children's playground are also available. You can also enjoy a stroll along the Olive Walkway where you can read the plaques located at various intervals on the side of the path. These plaques recall interesting historical happenings and events in the area. There is also a monument erected in memory of Alan Cunningham who crossed and named the Macintyre Brook on 30 May 1827.
