With its large marina frontage you can enjoy views of the Broadwater and beyond while you try your skills on a jet ski. Established in 1970, the Gold Coast Fishermen's Co-Operative was one of the first developments on the Spit at Main Beach. The fishing fleet consists of Prawn Trawlers, Tuna Long Liners and a Spanner Crab vessel, which all operate in the pristine waters off the Gold Coast. These vessels return to port most days loaded with the freshest seafood available for sale direct from the boat, often by the person who caught it. The complex consists of floating pontoons, which enables buyers to access the vessels direct to purchase fresh seafood, at extremely affordable prices. They have been operating this retail venture since 2006 and offer their customers the 'freshest catch' possible. All product sold is caught directly by the vessels. They are open from 7.00 a.m. until sold out, making mornings a preferred time to visit them. They welcome locals and tourists alike and are keen to share knowledge of their fishing operations and seafood with you. Since 1992, Brad Holmes has been teaching surfing at The Spit, Main Beach, with Personalised Surf Coaching for all ages and levels of experience, including disabled. Brad is a Level 2 Surfing Coach, and Tai Chi and Qigong Instructor. He incorporates Tai Chi and Qigong into the warm-up to improve greater flexibility, co-ordination and balance. He is also a Level 3 International Surfing Judge, and has a Diploma of Sports Management ( Surfing Studies).

McIntosh Island Park is a great park in the middle of Surfers Paradise. An oasis in the midst of high rises, this park is a sanctuary for many! This park has been established for many many years, and most Gold Coasters can remember visiting during their childhood! McIntosh Island Park is a very popular spot for a picnic or get together with family and friends. The large park offers many options for your party or gathering, with large trees providing excellent shade options. The cascading stream running through the park is home to several birds, and gives a tranquil atmosphere. This is one of the most popular parks for a wedding ceremony.
