Bonnyrigg Plaza was built in 1986 as a supermarket based convenient centre. Improvements in 2002 repositioned the centre as a modern sub-regional centre. Bonnyrigg Plaza now provides a strong supermarket offering with a Woolworths, Franklins, along with Big W and a strong fresh food and retailer offering.

Further redevelopment is planned with works including; Underground car parking, easier access to centre via travelators, new specialty stores and an internal upgrade to the existing centre.

The centre is situated on Bonnyrigg Avenue, Bonnyrigg, in the city of Fairfield approximately 35km south west of Sydney. The Alumny School operated from 1872 until 1969. It is now a living museum of school life with significant pieces of equipment, school records and memorabilia reflecting various stages of education over these years. It's a trip in a time machine back to your primary school days featuring many small details that may be long forgotten. The reserve surrounding the school is like a village green with picnic facilities, shady trees and sports facilities.

Picnic shelters are located throughout the park and there is also a fantastic children's nature playground, featuring double and single flying foxes, giant swings, a slide with climbing wall, recycled timber balancing beams and sand diggers. A walking and cycling track loop is also available for scooters and bikes that goes from Lizard Log to The Dairy. Some shelters are available to hire for private use. There are over 450 car spaces including disabled spaces and six barbecue stations including 24 electric barbecues and a large heat bead cooking area with heat bead disposal bins. Treetop Adventure Park is a recreation activity in the tree tops, where participants slide down flying foxes, move from tree to tree on suspension bridges and enjoy many other exciting activities up to 15 metres above the forest floor. There are 108 challenges including 20 flying foxes, the longest at 250 metres. This sensational experience is carried out at the participant's own pace with each course designed with different levels of difficulty (from children over three years old, through to easy, medium and 'adventure lover').
