Funcity Sunshine

486 Ballarat Road, Sunshine VIC 3020

Fun City Go Karts was the original brilliant idea of Darren Shaw, after seeing some great Go Kart Entertainment venues in Texas USA in Oct 1989. Darren came back to Australia and started a partnership with Jim Voliotis and his mate Shaun. Darren and Jim had been friends for some time and they both shared a passion with Super Sedan Racing.

They introduced Geoff Trewin into the partnership after Shaun left, and built the original "Fun City Go Karts" in Tottenham, on Sunshine road, where the Westco Jeans outlet is today. Fun City Go Karts opened to the Public on the 6th December 1990. In 1991 Darren and Geoff built a GoKart Track in Woodridge Queensland, a western suburb of Brisbane, that was very similar to Tottenham. We later sold the Track to Jim for his third share of Tottenham and his friend Ian who ran the business for a while before retiring. Jim has gone back to tow trucks in Qld, another one of his passions. Darren and Geoff also opened an outdoor Gokart Track at the Laverton outdoor market (Rubbles & Riches), we also sold this business off to Ian after he came back from Queensland.

Galli Estate Winery Logo and Images

Galli Estate Winery

1507 Melton Hwy, Plumpton VIC 3335

Galli Estate was the vision of Tuscan born Lorenzo Galli who came to Australia in the 1950's. It was moving full circle for Lorenzo, whose family had made wine in Italy for generations.

Two vineyard sites were carefully selected, in the Heathcote and Sunbury wine regions of Victoria. Each was planted with grape varieties that ideally suited their individual soils and climate.

Established in 1997 the Galli Estate Winery occupies 120 acres just 40 minutes northwest of Melbourne city and together with 260 acre Heathcote vineyard known as Camelback after the nearby Camel Ranges.

Grapes varieties across both properties include Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir, Fiano, Sangiovese, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo, Viognier, Grenache and Merlo. Further development is continuing with plantings of some exciting new Italian varietals. Along with the vineyards, there is a state of the art winery, cellar door and restaurant situated at Plumpton, near Sunbury.

The award winning selection of wines and Restaurant offers a range of options including a la carte dining and light lunches in a relaxed vineyard atmosphere. During the cooler months you can enjoy the warmth of the large open fire.

'Galli Estate, at the southern end of the Sunbury region offers excellent wines at very fair prices and has already put it on the radar of wine buffs far and wide. An Italian influence pervades the cellar door and the smart, modern restaurant, where you can enjoy great food looking across a broad sweep of vineyard, or go alfresco on the outside deck. Galli Estate, which has been accredited by James Halliday as a five-star winery, has its own vineyards at Sunbury and a larger vineyard in the Heathcote region which provides outstanding material to extend this substantial winery's already very good range.'
