Fehily Contemporary has been established by passionate, dynamic collectors whose personal journey of collecting and supporting artists’ careers and the Australian contemporary art industry created a need to enrich the experience for collectors and artists alike.

Fehily Contemporary is privileged to represent innovative and challenging contemporary artists, whose artwork contributes in a significant and meaningful way to the interpretation of today’s world.

Together with their artists, Fehily Contemporary is committed to providing a relaxed, refreshing and exciting experience, where visitors will enjoy gaining an understanding of the art beyond the gallery walls. We are excited to connect artists with curators, curators with collectors and collectors with artists, in a friendly and welcoming environment. Whilst enjoying a cup of tea, listening to an artists talk or being introduced to the world of contemporary art, there is a comfortable place at Fehily Contemporary.

GILLIGAN GRANT GALLERY is a commercial gallery in Collingwood, Melbourne run by gallery directors Philip Grant and Therese Gilligan. The gallery officially opened on 27 November 2007 following seven years experience operating a contemporary art space in Abbotsford, Melbourne.

GILLIGAN GRANT GALLERY represents artists working in a range of art forms, including painting, printmaking, photography and soft sculpture. Several solo exhibitions are held each year by our represented artists.

Gallery directors Philip Grant and Therese Gilligan have many years of experience working within the art industry and art education sector. We provide art consultancy for individual and company art collectors. We offer advice and technical assistance with expanding an art collection and or displaying a collection within the home or work environment.

The gallery's exhibition program comprises both Australian and international contemporary practicing artists. The gallery’s represented artists work in a variety of media including painting, photography and printmaking. Criteria for representation are based on a clear and focused direction, technical proficiency and resolved thematic parameters inherent to the art practice.

Regular solo exhibitions are held throughout the calendar year, and a Group Show of selected represented artists is scheduled at the end of each year. The aim of the exhibition program is to provide the Australian audience with a variety of exemplary artist practices, working within the genres of landscape, abstraction, and figuration, and to provide a more global representation of contemporary art. The majority of represented artists have been exhibiting for in excess of a decade, and are well represented in significant public and corporate collections throughout Australian, and internationally.

A passionate advocate of artists, Stuart Purves’ role as director is to ensure Australian Galleries remains vital and viable so that the artists they represent can air their views through the exhibiting of their work and survive and
prosper.

Stuart has expanded the business to include six galleries, four in Victoria and two in New South Wales. In recognition of the need to honour the status of prints, drawings, watercolours and photography, one gallery in each state specialises in works on paper.

Located in Glasshouse Road, just off Wellington Road is a new Collingwood gallery; Workspace Gallery. This new contemporary art space is housed in a renovated warehouse, flooded with natural light from the sawtooth roof, Workspace Gallery has an expansive exhibition area, adjoining kitchen and two bathrooms. A hanging system and professional lighting have also been installed and there’s a wood burning fire for the winter months.

Ochre Gallery has been operating for 16 years and is located in the heart of the Collingwood Arts Precinct, at 32-34 Wellington St Collingwood, Melbourne - situated close to the CBD and easily accessible by public transport.

We exhibit a large range of contemporary Australian art as well as a significant selection of Aboriginal art from the Kimberley, Arnhem Land and Central and Western deserts.

Ochre Gallery is also available for functions, the space allows a variety of possibilities, if needed, catering can be provided for by Hudson's Famous Catering, situated in near by Gertrude St. Fitzroy

Indigenart is one of Australia's foremost Aboriginal art galleries. Established in 1993, Indigenart represents a diverse group of Aboriginal artists from many different communities and areas across Australia. The range of works includes paintings on canvas, paper and bark in a wide variety of media as well as sculptures, weavings, carvings, ceramics, textiles and other fine craft work from established and emerging artists.

Indigenart regularly exhibits at The Mossenson Galleries in Subiaco and Fremantle (Western Australia), and Melbourne (Victoria) and elsewhere nationally and internationally. Indigenart is an accredited tourist business and an officially approved provider to the Western Australian Government. Indigenart has been a finalist in the State Tourism Awards for five years, winning a certificate of merit in 2000. Indigenart is a member of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association, the Association of Western Australian Art Galleries and Tourism Council Western Australia.

Situated in the stimulating Collingwood gallery precinct area, Cambridge Studio Gallery was established 3 years ago. The heritage listed building is an interesting venue for exhibiting a wide variety of artwork - painting, works on paper and sculpture from emerging and established artists. There is an emphasis on presenting the art in a friendly and inclusive manner.

In 2002 Kick Gallery was initiated by its current Director Jacob Hoerner. Since that time Kick Gallery has developed into a commercial art gallery that promotes and presents the work of contemporary visual artists working across the full spectrum of mediums and artistic platforms. As a result of producing and promoting successful exhibitions the artists represented by the gallery have been able to establish contacts as well as foster long-term relationships with other artists, curators, collectors and audiences interested in the arts. Kick Gallery moved in March 2010 from its initial gallery space on High Street in Northcote to its current address at 4 Peel Street Collingwood. In 2010 Kick Gallery was nominated and accepted into the Australian Commecial Galleries Association (ACGA).

Jenny Port Gallery opened its doors at Level One, 7 Albert Street, Richmond in March 2007 showcasing selected artists.

The James Makin Gallery is located at 67 Cambridge Street in Collingwood, one of Melbourne's most dynamic, developing areas for contemporary art spaces. In recent years many galleries have relocated to the area to create a dense mix of contemporary art spaces, artist run initiatives and artist studios. 

The primary focus of James Makin Gallery is to promote excellence and innovation in contemporary art, holding diverse and exciting exhibitions, events, and forums to create opportunities for collectors and investors to meet with artists for discussion.
               
The gallery represents a select stable of highly trained early career to senior Australian contemporary artists who are collected by many important institutional, private and public collections nationally and internationally. Represented artists exhibit in a wide range genres and styles; from figurative, landscape, expressionist, realism, and abstraction – incorporating mediums that include painting, printmaking, (intaglio, relief and digital) works on paper, sculpture and photography.

The gallery is a 300 square metre converted warehouse inspired by the world's best galleries and museums. With polished concrete floors, diffused natural light from the original saw-tooth skylights, the latest in artificial gallery lighting, high ceilings and large flexible flowing exhibition spaces, the gallery is capable of holding one, two or three shows at once. 

James Makin is a member of the Australian Commercial Galleries Association.

Hogan Gallery has become a fixture in seedy Smith Street since it opened in 1996.

Bryan Hogan, Gallery Director enjoys the usual and unusual art that passes through this street front gallery.

The gallery has never looked better and with the addition of a fully licensed bar is ready for 2010.
