Petty's is one of Melbourne's oldest commercial orchards, and it holds the largest collection of apple varieties on mainland Australia, with more than two hundred varieties of old and rare apples. There is a single toilet block which has facilities for the disabled. The car park and Demonstration Orchard are relatively flat providing disabled access, although tracks through the latter are fine gravel and mown grass which can be slippery when wet. The wetland and bird hide are less accessible and people with physical mobility problems will have to be fit to negotiate some areas. While managed by Parks Victoria, 25 hectares of Pettys is privately leased to a commercial operator. Please respect the rights of the orchardists by not entering this area or picking any apples. Kellybrook Winery and Kelly Brothers Cider was established by the Kelly family in 1969, set in a secluded little valley only 35 kilometres from Melbourne's city centre. Kellybrook's rolling hills are a pretty backdrop to the vineyard and give a lovely rural feel. Kellybrook produces an extensive range of award-winning table wines and specialises in hand-disgorged sparkling wines, using the traditional French method. Recent expansion into beer brewing has lead to Riders Brew Co. being established by the Kelly Brothers. The brewery focuses on expressive high quality small batch beers. Exceptional apple and pear ciders are also made on the property, including the unique Champagne Cider, a favourite in the cellar door, and apple brandy. Tastings and sales are conducted in the cellar door Friday - Monday. Enjoy the open fire in Winter and garden in Summer. The Rob Dolan Wines Cellar Door is located in South Warrandyte, just 30 minutes from Melbourne's CBD. The intimate space has been incorporated into the properties' original Farmhouse which is set on over 100 acres of rolling farmland and vineyard. The friendly and knowledgeable Cellar Door staff are on hand to guide visitors through a comprehensive tasting of their range of wines. Visitors are welcome to purchase wine to take home or enjoy on the deck or in our gardens. A range of craft coffee, tea and non-alcoholic drinks are also available for purchase.
