Longford Riverside Caravan Park is ideally located to the south of Launceston, Tasmania. Located on the banks of the picturesque Macquarie River. The park offers quality sites, riverbank walks and fishing. Accommodation includes 78 powered sites, all with sullage and water. There are 50 additional un-powered sites, some located on the river bank. The park also has six deluxe on-site caravans and two studio units. These sleep two guests and all have electric blankets, television, heating and a kitchen. One of them has a bunk bed. The on-site deluxe caravans have a toilet and bathroom and the units both have a toilet but no shower. Facilities include two amenity blocks, laundry facilities, camp kitchen and barbecue area. Wi-Fi available. You can walk to shops close-by and the park is an ideal base for day trips in the northern region. Woolmers Estate offers colonial accommodation across six self-contained cottages in Longford, Tasmania. Built in the 1840s, the cottages range from one to three bedrooms and can accommodate between two and six guests. Four free settler cottages have been designed to appeal to groups of friends traveling together. These cottages are in blocks of two with doors that can be opened to connect them. Each cottage has a wood heater and a self-contained kitchen. The cottages were once home to trades people on the estate. Woolmers Estate is a significant example of a 19th century rural farm settlement in Australia. Wander around the extensive grounds, colonial buildings and The Rose Garden. The RSL Longford Village Green Market is held on the Green and in the Memorial Hall. A mix of Farmers market, produce, gifts, crafts and car boot sale for trash and treasure. Held on the last Sunday of each month from 8am - 12 noon....

Longford Golf Course is a popular well maintained 11 hole course near Launceston, Northern Tasmania. The par 71 course boasts lush fairways and good greens. There are 11 holes, seven of which have alternate tees. There are two separate final holes that allow for finish in front of the club house. Visitors are welcome. Ladies competition day is each Wednesday, Veterans on Thursday and mixed competitions Saturday and Sunday. While you are in Longford, wander through the historic town and stop by the antique shops and park area. Take a short drive to Woolmers National Rose Gardens or plan a bushwalk in the Great Western Tiers mountain range. Frog Gully Cottages have two self-contained cottages specially designed to take in a superb wetland view. There is an abundance of bird life, spectacular sunrises and sunsets and clear starry nights. Each cottage has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms. One bedroom has a queen size bed, the other has twin king single beds. The kitchen is well-equipped and contains electric hotplates and microwave oven. A barbecue is provided, also television, DVD, CD player, washing machine and outdoor clothesline. Heating in winter is provided by a gas log fire as well as air conditioning for cooling in summer. Sale Golf course is next door. The cottages are eight kilometres from Sale, and 24 kilometres from the Ninety Mile Beach. Other places of interest nearby include Tarra Bulga Park, Holey Plains State Park, Gippsland Lakes and the Ramsar wetlands around Sale. A breakfast basket on arrival is included in the tariff. There are no facilities for children, and pets are not allowed. The cottages are designed for wheelchair access. A cottage at Frog Gully is the ideal location for a getaway weekend. The cottages also provide a 'home away from home' for business people working in Sale on a short term basis....
