Located 45 kilometres north-west from Coonabarabran and the Newell Highway, the camp is situated on 75 hectares of open woodland at the Baradine Showground and old racecourse, and only one and a half to two kilometres from town services and sporting facilities. There are 20 powered caravan/camp sites and unlimited space for general camping. A dump site is also available. A fully-operational commercial kitchen and air-conditioned dining room can cater for groups and large functions for up to 150 guests. shop training facilities are also available. The Pilliga Forest Lookout Tower is located at Salt Caves visitor area in Timmallallie National Park, about 45 kilometres by road north-east of Baradine. The visitor area has a free gas barbecue, picnic tables, interpretive signage, shelters, and toilet. The cave itself is a great example of shelters used by traditional Aboriginal people, with evidence of its occupation recorded.
